BELOTERO
Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS BELOTERO BALANCE?
Belotero is a dermal filler designed to integrate into facial skin tissue. The unique manufacturing process yields a soft and cohesive gel that, once injected, instantly fills the skin to help smooth lines and static wrinkles.
WHICH AREAS CAN BELOTERO BE USED TO TREAT?
While the product is versatile enough to handle moderate nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), it can be an ideal option for treating delicate areas such as etched-in smile lines and vertical lip lines (thin lines that appear above and around the lips).
IS THIS LIKE BOTULINUM TOXIN (BOTOX, DYSPORT, XEOMIN) TREATMENTS?
No, Belotero acts in a completely different way. It fills in areas in the skin to reduce the depth of wrinkles, lines, and folds. The skin remains mobile and flexible, with a natural look, feel, and movement.
HOW LONG DOES BELOTEROÂ LAST?
Results are immediate and most patient report results will slowly fade in about 8-12 months.
DO THE INJECTIONS HURT?
Injections may cause some discomfort during and after the procedure. Belotero contains the anesthetic lidocaine, which can reduce the sensation of pain. Topical anesthetic may also be considered.
YOU WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED A CANDIDATE FOR BELOTERO IF:
You have an active infection near site of injection.
You have a known allergy/ hypersensitivity to the material or the lidocaine mixed in the syringe of the filler.
You are pregnant or breast feeding as safety has not been established in this patient population.
WHAT IS THE COST OF BELOTERO?
The cost depends on which product is chosen and the total amount of product used. When you come in for your initial consult, we discuss treatment goals and can usually give you a good idea of how much product you’ll need and the corresponding cost. We do not accept insurance.
HOW DO I SCHEDULE?
We do not book through Peninsula Family Medical Center. Please do not call PFMC to schedule. The schedulers do not have access to the MDI medical record or scheduling system.
